Polines Introduces Vocational Education to Students of SMAS Islam PB Soedirman 2 Bekasi

SEMARANG – Semarang State Polytechnic (POLINES) received an educational visit from the students of SMAS Islam PB Soedirman 2 Bekasi at the POLINES Campus Auditorium on Thursday, November 5, 2026. This visit served as an opportunity for the students to become better acquainted with higher vocational education and the excellence of practice-based learning.

The Vice Director for Academic Affairs of Polines, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dwiana Hendrawati, S.T., M.T., hopes that the visit will provide new insights for the students while introducing vocational education as an option for pursuing higher education.

"Hopefully, through this visit, the students can gain a deeper understanding of vocational higher education and make POLINES one of their choices for continuing their education to the next level," she stated.

Meanwhile, the Principal of SMAS Islam PB Soedirman 2 Bekasi, Ahmad Hilaludin, S.Ag., M.Pd., appreciated the opportunity for the visit. According to him, vocational education has an advantage because its learning process emphasizes practical experience, making it an attractive alternative for students wishing to pursue college.

"This is truly extraordinary. Vocational higher education places a greater emphasis on practical learning. In our view, this can be an excellent option for students to continue their education at the higher education level," he expressed.

On the same occasion, the Polines Promotion and Public Relations Team, Juli Widiyanto, SAP., introduced the academic environment and learning culture at Polines. He explained that discipline and attitude are crucial aspects built while students undergo their education.

According to him, the learning system in the polytechnic is also designed to familiarize students with work patterns in the industrial world, including the implementation of shift systems or work-time division.

"In the polytechnic, discipline and attitude are of utmost importance. The learning system is also tailored to industrial work patterns, so students become accustomed to the rhythm and work culture before eventually entering the industrial world directly," Juli explained.
