MAGELANG, November 5, 2026 – In an effort to enhance organizational professionalism and strengthen institutional governance, Semarang State Polytechnic held a Community Service activity themed "Strengthening the Governance of ASEPHI Greater Magelang Through the Development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Based on Good Governance" on November 5, 2026, in Magelang.
This activity aims to encourage capacity building within ASEPHI (Association of Indonesian Handicraft Exporters and Producers) Greater Magelang by strengthening its governance system to be more structured, professional, transparent, and accountable. The development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) served as the primary focus to support the effective execution of duties and functions, as well as the achievement of organizational goals.
During its implementation, the activity emphasized the importance of applying the principles of Good Governance as the foundation for organizational management. These principles encompass transparency, accountability, responsibility, independence, and fairness in conducting every institutional activity.
The development of SOPs is expected to provide clear and systematic working guidelines for both the board and members of ASEPHI Greater Magelang. With SOPs in place, every organizational process can be carried out more consistently, purposefully, and measurably. Meanwhile, the formulation of KPIs is designed to help the organization establish success indicators, evaluate performance, and objectively monitor the achievement of work programs.
This activity also served as a space for collaboration and discussion between the community service implementation team and the board and members of ASEPHI Greater Magelang. Through this interaction, it is hoped that various organizational needs and challenges can be identified so that the developed solutions align with the conditions and needs of the partners.
The atmosphere of togetherness and the participants' enthusiasm during this activity reflected a shared commitment to building an increasingly strong and professional organization. Collaboration between higher education institutions and community organizations such as ASEPHI represents a form of implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education (the Three Pillars of Higher Education), particularly in making a tangible contribution through community service activities.
Through this activity, Semarang State Polytechnic hopes that ASEPHI Greater Magelang can implement an organizational governance system based on SOPs and KPIs in a sustainable manner. Consequently, the organization is expected to become more effective in executing work programs, improving the quality of services for members, and strengthening the competitiveness of handicraft industry players in the Greater Magelang region.
This activity further reaffirms Semarang State Polytechnic's commitment to continuously playing an active role in supporting the strengthening of community institutions through the application of science, mentoring, and innovations oriented toward the needs of partners.
