Director of Polines Encourages the Improvement of Campus Website Quality Based on SDGs

SEMARANG – Director of Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines), Dr. Garup Lambang Goro, S.T., M.T., emphasized the importance of website management as a gateway for the public to get to know the campus. The content presented must be informative, accurate, and relevant to public needs while aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“The website is the public gateway to getting to know Polines. Therefore, the content presented must demonstrate Polines’ contribution that aligns with the sustainable development goals,” he said during the Website Capacity and Quality Development event at the Polines Directorate Building on Thursday (29/10/26).
This event featured two guest speakers from the mass media, namely Arina Zulfa Ul Haq, a reporter for detik.com, and Bakhtiar Rivai from Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI).
Arina presented a session titled “From Activities to Information.” She emphasized that campus publications are not merely about reporting events, but need to explore news value, benefits for readers, achievements, and follow-up actions to make the information more engaging and relevant.
Meanwhile, Bakhtiar delivered a session on online news writing and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). This session discussed the importance of structuring informative news, using relevant keywords, and optimizing headlines and content to make them more easily discoverable through search engines.
Through this activity, Polines encourages the improvement of website managers' competencies in producing quality, credible, and accessible publications. The website is expected to serve not only as a medium for publishing activities, but also as a tool to strengthen the dissemination of information regarding the contribution of vocational education to innovation and sustainable development.
