SEMARANG - In an effort to improve performance, health, and team cohesion, the Civil Engineering Department of Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) organized a Capacity Building event for its lecturers and education personnel. Titled "Improving the Performance of Lecturers and Education Personnel of the Polines Civil Engineering Department Through Capacity Building," the event was held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at the Civil Engineering Workshop Yard of Polines.

Unlike indoor training sessions, this capacity building was designed with healthy and engaging activities, featuring a joint aerobic exercise session attended by all lecturers and education personnel of the Civil Engineering Department. The Head of the Civil Engineering Department of Polines, Dedi Budi Setiawan, S.T., M.T., stated that performance improvement is not only about technical competence, but also about building positive energy, physical health, and team solidarity. "We want to build human resource capacity starting from the most fundamental aspects, namely health and togetherness. Fit and cohesive employees will be more productive, more creative, and better prepared to provide the best service to students," said the Head of the Department in his remarks.

The atmosphere of the Civil Engineering Workshop Yard, which is typically used for student practical work, was filled with enthusiasm and joy that morning. The energetic exercise movements were followed with great enthusiasm, serving as a refreshing activity while strengthening bonds among lecturers and education personnel. Through this flexible capacity building approach, the Civil Engineering Department of Polines hopes to foster a healthy, collaborative, and high-performing work culture as a foundation to support Polines' vision of becoming a leading polytechnic.

The event concluded with a friendly gathering featuring traditional market snacks and green bean porridge, followed by a group photo as a symbol of unity within the extended family of the Polines Civil Engineering Department.
